In Fall 2014, Rossi was awarded multiple contracts for work to be performed on gates occupied by United Airlines at O’Hare International Airport. These projects are part of a larger ongoing effort to optimize gate utilization and accommodate the increase in flight schedule planned for the upcoming year.
The scope of work for these projects includes, but is not limited to:
- Demolition of apron pavement and construction of new drilled-shaft foundations for jetbridge and walkway supports
- Furnish and assemble new walkways, including all necessary electrical installation
- Disconnect, transport and reconnect existing bridges and install new bridges at specified locations
- Build-out of a new hold room including:
- Curtain wall modifications for installation of new gate door
- Installation of United podium, backscreen and furniture.
- Fabrication and installation of new FIDs display
- Furnish and install specified electrical devices and communication components
- Remove existing apron marking and restripe per plan
- Pavement removal, excavation and installation of new fueling pits and necessary fuel line
