O’Hare Lower Level Utility and Pavement Reconstruction Project
O’Hare International Airport required infrastructure improvements help prepare for future terminal development and Rossi Contractors, Inc. was awarded a complex utility and pavement reconstruction project within the terminal core area. Work began in 2021 and extended across the entire lower level of Terminals 1, 2 & 3 and adjacent parking lots. The project included relocation of the water main loop with installation of a separate fire main within the terminal arrivals area. New ComEd electrical duct bank and manholes were constructed to provide additional capacity. Roadway demolition and reconstruction provided new crosswalks, pedestrian refuge islands and replacement of an aging storm sewer system.
