In Spring 2017, Rossi Contractors, Inc. was awarded a contract for site work associated with the construction of a new hangar building for American Airlines. Completion of this Hangar II Replacement project, located at O’Hare International Airport, will provide American Airlines with a new hangar space roughly 160,000 SF in size, a 35,000 SF support facility and aircraft and equipment parking in excess of 600,000 SF.
Rossi is contracted to complete a variety of tasks:
- Demolish existing taxiway and apron Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement, asphalt and select site features.
- Clear, grub and cut site down to proposed subgrade.
- Excavate, prepare subbase and backfill, as applicable, for foundation elements and slabs-on-grade.
- Install proposed PCC pavement, asphalt pavement and blast fence foundation.
